Criminal Defense Community

The CDRC's Criminal Defense Community web pages are open to all.

In the absence of a statewide public defense system, criminal defense attorneys in Michigan often practice without a safety net of colleagues and resources.  Mentoring by experienced attorneys is largely unavailable, except for a lucky few.  Knowledge about the practices of a particular judge or local court is gained haphazardly, if at all.

To address that need, the Criminal Defense Resource Center has launched Criminal Defense Community pages.  Organized on a geographic basis, each local page contains information about court location, spotlight profiles of individual local attorneys and judges, video interviews, lists of trial court successes, and important local documents.  Opportunities to second-chair, or mentor, will be posted, as will attorneys' interest in referrals.  The goal is to create an online community that supports attorneys and nurtures a culture of collegiality.
