Employment Rights
Federal and state laws provide numerous protections for employees and applicants.
Employees accrue and can use up to 72 hours per year of paid sick leave for medical/family care; unused time carries over to the next year; retaliation prohibited. SADO's year for purposes of this Act is the calendar year - January 1 through December 31.
Eligible employees can take up to 12 workweeks of job-protected leave
in a 12-month period for qualifying family and
medical reasons.
Unemployment benefits are payable to qualified and eligible workers of SADO through Michigan's Unemployment Insurance Agency.
